Each year Athena San Diego recognizes extraordinary woman in companies/organizations who personify Athena San Diego’s mission of leading by example and/or fostering the personal and professional growth of women. This is characterized through mentoring, education, and leadership training thereby enhancing opportunities for the advancement of women in the Southern California business community.
Achieve TMS is proud to announce that Shashita Inamdar, M.D., Ph.D., DABPN has been nominated for a 2017 Athena Award in San Diego, CA. Dr. Inamdar empowers women of all ages to re-imagine themselves as heroes, breathing life into their experiences and expectations and teaching them to reach beyond what they believe they are capable of accomplishing. As a practicing child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, medical director of Achieve Medical/Achieve TMS and La Jolla Center for Discovery, and faculty member at USD School of Nursing and LEECOM School of Osteopathic Medicine, her employees, patients, students and peers talk about the fact that she makes them feel capable and powerful, giving them an inspiring vision of their potential. Many of her female employees at Achieve Medical/Achieve TMS are currently training to become doctors, PAs and NPs in order to follow in her footsteps. They continue to work for the company while pursuing these dreams, and Dr. Inamdar encourages and supports their efforts. As one employee said, “She constantly cares for others, even when it’s not easy. She easily influences without aggression or ego and gives back without ever expecting anything in return. She has had a profound effect on my life.” Patients talk about the fact that she will go “above and beyond.” As one recently unemployed patient said, “Dr. Inamdar is the only doctor I’ve ever met who told me her door would always be open, regardless of my ability to pay.”
Dr. Inamdar gracefully balances her many professional responsibilities with raising three school age boys, caring for aging parents and nurturing a marriage and life partnership with her husband of 25 years, Dr. Manish Sheth.
