BrainsWay Deep TMS technology is available at all of our TMS therapy centers, and this technology has been tested in over 60 clinical trials globally. With BrainsWay Deep TMS, our medical clinicians provide an FDA-approved TMS treatment that is noninvasive, has no systemic side effects, requiring 20-minute therapy sessions.
During a BrainsWay Deep TMS therapy session, a patient is seated comfortably in a chair, and a helmet that contains a patented H-coil is placed on the head at a site that is specifically mapped for each patient. The coil creates a temporary magnetic field that stimulates the mood center of the brain and stimulates the release of neurotransmitters.
BrainsWay Deep TMS is FDA-cleared to help patients coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and/or major depressive disorder (MDD). BrainsWay Deep TMS has been used in more than 500,000 treatments delivered across 17 countries, with 90% of the population treated covered by reimbursement.
NeuroStar TMS therapy is available in California at our Carlsbad, Mission Valley, and Shoreham Place; in Oregon, our Beaverton center; and in Alaska, in our Anchorage and Wasilla locations are equipped with NeroStar TMS. The therapy is offered to adult patients coping with MDD who have not reported symptom improvement after using antidepressant medication alone.
A targeted, pulsed magnetic field similar to that of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used during NeuroStar TMS therapy. The magnetic field stimulates underactive areas of the brain that may contribute to depression symptoms.
NeuroStar TMS therapy is noninvasive, FDA-approved, and covered by most insurance plans. The therapy may help provide long-term relief for depression symptoms but should not be used by patients who have non-removable conductive metal in or near the head.
Nexstim TMS therapy is available at our La Jolla, California location. The therapy uses SmartFocus® TMS technology that relies on 3D imaging to help patients relieve depression symptoms.
Initially, Nexstim requires an MRI scan of a patient’s head to see into the brain. Software is then used to model a patient’s head and ensure the patient receives targeted TMS treatment.
Nexstim leverages the science of electricity to help the brain heal itself during TMS therapy. The treatment involves a measured and individualized dose of TMS that is delivered accurately to specific portions of a patient’s brain. Patient data is collected and evaluated over time, helping to ensure maximal results of therapy.
